Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 12, 2026

SyncYourDevice.com is committed to making its guides usable by as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technology. Accessibility genuinely matters here — many readers arrive already frustrated with a device that won't cooperate, and the last thing the help should do is add another barrier.

Conformance target

This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. "Aims to conform" means these guidelines are the standard I build and check against; it is an honest goal rather than a guarantee that every page meets every criterion at all times. Where I know something falls short, it's listed in the limitations below rather than glossed over.

What's in place

  • Semantic, structured HTML — one clear heading per page, meaningful heading order, and real landmarks (header, main, nav, footer) so screen readers can navigate by structure.
  • Keyboard operability — interactive elements, including the table of contents, expandable FAQ items, and the screenshot viewer, can be operated without a mouse. The image viewer closes with the Escape key.
  • Text alternatives — informative images carry descriptive alt text so their meaning isn't lost to screen-reader users.
  • Readable by design — generous line length and spacing, a high-contrast dark-on-white colour scheme, and text that scales when you zoom the page or increase your browser's font size, without breaking the layout.
  • Respecting your settings — the site uses a system font stack, so it renders in a typeface your device already handles well, and layout is responsive from small phones to desktops.
  • No motion traps — there are no autoplaying carousels, flashing content, or animations that move on their own and can't be stopped.

Known limitations

Being straight with you about the current gaps:

  • Embedded videos. Some guides embed YouTube videos. The video player itself is provided by YouTube, and its accessibility is outside my control; where a video is used, the key steps are also written out in text so you never need the video to follow along.
  • Third-party components. The comment form and a small number of embedded elements come from external services, and their accessibility depends partly on those providers.

These are being worked on rather than left indefinitely, and this statement will be updated as they're resolved.

Tips for adjusting your experience

  • Zoom the page with Ctrl and + (or Cmd and + on a Mac) — the layout is built to reflow rather than break.
  • Your operating system's built-in tools — Narrator on Windows, VoiceOver on Mac and iPhone, TalkBack on Android, and high-contrast or larger-text modes — all work with this site.

Feedback

If you hit an accessibility barrier here — something a screen reader mishandles, text that's hard to read, or anything you can't operate by keyboard — please tell me. It's treated as a real bug, not a nice-to-have. Email [email protected] or use the contact page, and if you can, mention the page and the assistive technology or browser you were using so I can reproduce and fix it.
